Home/Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
The short version: this website does not run advertising, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics. If you email us, we keep your email so we can reply. That is essentially it.
1. Who We Are
Iron Pint Games ("Iron Pint Games", "we", "us", "our") is an independent game studio. We operate this website and develop and distribute the games listed on it, including SWARMED.
For anything related to privacy or your personal data, contact us at contact@ironpintgames.com.
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy covers this website and our games. It does not cover the storefronts that sell our games. When you buy, download or play SWARMED through Steam, Valve Corporation's own privacy policy applies to the account, payment and platform data they handle. We never see your payment details.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information you give us
- Email correspondence. If you email us, or use the contact form on our contact page, we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and whatever you write to us.
- Press enquiries. If you request a review key or press materials, we may keep your name, outlet or channel, and contact details so we can follow up.
Note that our contact form does not send anything to us by itself. It opens a message in your own email application with the fields filled in. Nothing you type into it is transmitted to or stored on this website unless you choose to send the email.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring page, and browser user-agent. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults.
- No analytics or advertising. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking of any kind on this website.
3.3 Information in our games
- Local save data. Game progress, unlocks, settings and statistics are stored on your own device, and synced by the platform if you have that enabled.
- Platform data. Where a game integrates with a platform such as Steam, that platform may make limited account information available to the game (for example your platform user ID and display name) in order to run features like achievements and statistics. This is handled by the platform under its own privacy policy.
- Crash and error information. If a game crashes, the platform may offer to send a crash report. Any such report goes through the platform, not directly to us.
4. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above to:
- Reply to your questions, feedback, bug reports and press enquiries;
- Investigate and fix problems with our games and this website;
- Keep this website secure and available, and prevent abuse;
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
5. Legal Basis
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — replying to correspondence, keeping our site and games secure, and fixing faults;
- Consent — where you have actively opted in to something, for example loading an embedded video;
- Legal obligation — where we are required to keep records.
6. Cookies
This website does not set cookies of its own for tracking or analytics. Some embedded third-party content, such as a video player, may set cookies once you interact with it. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.
7. Third Parties
We keep the number of third parties involved as small as we reasonably can. The ones that may process data connected to this website or our games are:
- Our web hosting provider — serves this website and keeps technical server logs.
- Our email provider — receives and stores messages you send us.
- Valve Corporation (Steam) — distributes and sells our games, and handles accounts, payments, achievements and cloud saves under its own privacy policy.
- Video platforms — where a trailer is embedded on a page, the video platform receives a request from your browser when you play it.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
8. How Long We Keep Data
- Correspondence — kept for as long as it is useful for support and record-keeping, and deleted on request unless we need to keep it for a legal reason.
- Server logs — kept for a short period by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics, then discarded.
- Game save data — stays on your device, and under your control, until you delete it.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over the personal information we hold about you:
- The right to access a copy of it;
- The right to have inaccurate information corrected;
- The right to have it deleted;
- The right to restrict or object to our use of it;
- The right to portability of information you provided to us;
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent;
- The right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these, email contact@ironpintgames.com. We will respond within the time limits set by applicable law, normally within one month. If you are in the EEA or UK and you are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
This website and our games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on our providers' appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
12. Security
This website is served over HTTPS, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our games and website change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
Questions about this policy, or about your data:
